What day is it?? 308 When is it?? Sunday, 19. December 2010 21:37
Where am I?? Inside from the snow. How am I?? Sleepy
What's happening dude??
Christmas holidays have begun already!!! We had four days of graduation photos, two in Belfast and two here, in the theatre across town. I was on cash with Bev, who photos pre-school kids, we had four women organising people and selling the various packs and then six photographers. Two of the girls helping were one of the photographer's daughters and her friend, who had just finished school and had left the school as minor heroes as they were part of a group who had painted a 200ft penis on the school's football pitch!! But the grads were good fun, and cash was easy and not too busy, just a queue sometimes. We stayed overnight in Belfast, had a good dinner in Benedicts then I wrapped up warm and headed out for some pics of Belfast at night, and got some good shots too. They were all staying overnight up here two days later and given my local knowledge they let me decide where to eat that night, and after I decided on 21 we found out a few hours later that it burnt out 6 months ago!! So we headed to Mange 2 instead, and it was still a good meal.
Was supposed to be doing calls on Friday but thankfully a heavy overnight snowfall put paid to that and my Christmas holidays started a day early!! We missed almost a week of work earlier in the month due to the snow as well, I had to coem home early on Monday from calls around the city, after I couldn't get the car up a few hills, and glad I did as about 30mins later the mayhem landed and the traffic turned into almost gridlock. We were due back at work on the Thursday but we made it to Coleraine only to be told that even though the school was open, only half the pupils ahd turned up so there wasn't much point. On the Friday I headed down south of Belfast to help Phelim and Joanne with vistas in a secondary school. Was a pretty good day, though at one point after various laughing and questioning between me and a couple of school boys it turned out that they had “hidden” my chocolate biscuits IN my coffee! I wasn't too impressed and the teacher had overheard our conversation so he was made to bring me another coffee and biscuits and got in a fair bit of trouble. The last shoot of the day was for any kids who had brought in any props for their hobby and at first I was sceptical that kids were just using it as an excuse to skive the last class on a Friday, but by the end I had some fantastic shots of the kids, really good fun!
Have to admit I've been loving the snow, though I think I was getting a touch of cabin fever the first time. I wasn't housebound, but there wasn't anyone for me to visit when I left the house so I headed outside and took a quick timelapse shot of myself making a snow angel in the back patio. Got out for a good few snow photos around the town which is pretty cool, hopefully should be able to get out for plenty more over the winter.
Spent a lot of November laughing at Neil and Cod, who grew moustaches for Movember to raise money and awareness for men's cancers and depression. When it came to December they were both glad to see the back of them, though I took a short video of Neil shaving his off, complete with the usual inane commentary and smart arse comments!
Not sure what my plans are for over Christmas, looking forward to Joanne getting home, hopefully get some photos of her for my photo class. There'll be the usual reunion nights out in the same bars as every year over Christmas, though havent worked out what I'm doing for NYE. Not that bothered as the night is usually really over hyped but I might be heading to Belfast this year, hopefully that will step it up a bit!
