Kununurra started its life in the 50's, built to service the Ord Irrigation Scheme, which was created to dam the river Ord which allowed a system of channels to water acres of land for harvesting. The town's name is the English pronounciation of the Aboriginal for "Big River". But who cares?? We didn't, we just got drunk at the hostel and had a laugh!
Much like kids at Christmas, when we got bored with what was in the boxes (beer!) we started to play with the boxes, hence the genius creation of BoxHead Boxing!!!
