Tuscaloosa, Alabama

Living the student life!

An easy drive to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, a relatively small town of which half the population are students. Parked the car and didn't dare move it till I left!! It hadn't broken down and I felt it was well overdue a rest. Stayed longer than I planned because I was feeling a bit drunk, (over)confident and I had a load of hot girls asking me to stay and drink. Duh!!

The morning I was due to leave I decided just to check the speeding ticket from Tennessee one more time, though not too sure what the point was as I had called about a dozen times and everytime I had called to pay it the computer said it couldn't find it in the system. But this time I noticed something. And it seemed like something important. The ticket wasn't issued by Shelby county sheriffs, it was issued IN Shelby county by the Tennessee Highway Patrol. Damn, I called and this time the computer did find it, which meant that I had a ticket issued, the due date to pay or appear in court was last week so there was now an official warrant issued for my arrest in Tennessee. I was a wanted man!!! However, I still had to drive through Tennessee to get home so my options were clear. Bomb through Tennessee (without speeding) hoping I don't get caught; drive around it, adding considerable time and chance of the car breaking down or just own up and pay it, hoping that it hasn't become more expensive. I decided to pay for it as I didn't want anything to affect my visa as I hope to return to camp in 2006.
